It's a Hard Yacht life for us
Since the summer of 2007, the Hard Yacht Cafe at Anchor Bay has grown from a one room shack to the dock bar that we all know and love. Some would say it's been built six inches at a time, from one season to the next. In the early days, HYC survived a woodstove fire and flooding from hurricane Isabel, to this day a watermark sits on the wall by the front door marks the spot. A few patches and we were back in business. Since then, we've made it through the 2020 pandemic and the Key Bridge collapse, we count ourselves lucky to have survived and thrived through it all with the support of the community. We're blessed to have a solid crew that's weathered many summers, quite a few from the very beginning. Our crew has been the heart and soul of the place, welcoming locals and boaters from all over with our dockside service, the best crushes around, and of course the infamous HYC Egg Rolls & THE #1 Pickle shot.
The hardest working galley crew on the Chesapeake cooks from brunch at sunrise to last call, filling big appetites from our petite kitchen- some of the most delicious dishes you've ever had in your life. What started with just boats, burgers, and beers has become the go-to place for every occasion. Live music on the deck, parties at the TIKI bar, families with their pups on the grass patio, and boaters docking for the night make this welcoming atmosphere a place for everyone. The Dundalk locals and our Bear Creek neighbors helped make it a locals retreat, where everyone knows your name. To most of us, Hard Yacht is a second home and the spot to slow down time for a while, and always for no work, all play!
